TIMELINE
5 weeks

FORM EXPLORATIONS
I started by exploring preliminary 3D forms using foam, wire and chipboard to understand how to create dynamic sculptural forms. By allowing form to precede the function, I listened to my models to understand how it might interact
with the human face.

FORM REFINEMENT
After initial form explorations, I refined my model by considerings its human factors and ergonomics while interacting with the face.
ROUGH MODEL
Using color and different finishes, I refined my model further.

PRELIMINARY IDEATIONS
I moved onto exploring ideations for variations of my model.

RENDERINGS
After my exploratory ideations I created refined technical drawings and renderings for my model.

FABRICATION
After further refinement of my concept, I created a cutting list for my parts. Using the band saw and the machine sander I fabricated 2 parts in balsa foam. I used sheet metal and chipboard to create the screen and antenna for my model and assembled all the parts together using wire.

FINAL MODEL
The most successful part of the project was making all the parts work together in an assembly. The biggest challenge was ensuring that all the parts looked harmonious despite having varying finishes.
