FOODIE
Creating social connections through food
The Foodie App is a platform to help indecisive eaters choose a restaurant by split second tapping.
Research has revealed that the more often people eat with others the more they are likely to feel happy and satisfied with their lives. The app helps users socialize with others by making connections with three or more users having similar food preferences.

RESEARCHED PERSONAS
Our first step was understanding our target audience. We designed a questionnaire to interview them about their daily
motivations, frustrations and goals when it comes to eating and sharing meals.
JOURNEY MAP
Since our app involved connecting three or more strangers with one common thread of being foodies we mapped out a scenario that illustrates the end of a busy week where all three users want to socialize with new people while discovering
new food options.
TASK FLOW
The main task flow was developed after testing different food and socializing apps. We explored clicking through different icons and navigating various affordances to complete a task.
USER TESTING
Paper prototypes were created to test the screens for the app. We noted the users actions and patterns of behavior which allowed us to incorporate the feedback in our Figma prototype.
STYLE GUIDE
The visual style features different food illustration icons followed by a warm color palette. We paired a serif and sans-serif typeface to show hierarchy.
KEY FEATURES
The app allows users to create their foodie profile and filter dietary restrictions and specific diet types during the onboarding. Once logged in the user inputs their daily filters for food which are then recognized by the apps algorithm to connect them with users choosing similar restaurants for the day.
